Rose Hill, who is my excellent translation coordinator at Zoo Digital, tells us a bit about her job.
What I do during a normal day at work:
I normally answer lots of emails with queries from linguists about certain projects. I also schedule and coordinate any new projects we get in. I also help our technical team fix any language issues they have in our streams.
This is my background:
I studied French and German at university and completed some modules about translation, but I am not a certified translator.
What I like to do when I am not coordinating translators:
In my free time I love baking and walking in the countryside.
What I like best about my job:
I love being in contact with people from all over the world.
Things translators do that makes me superhappy:
Translators letting me know that they enjoyed a project is always nice.
Things translators do that drives me crazy:
When people don’t deliver projects on time it can be quite annoying.
One last thing I want the world to know:
I think the work that translators do is very important, as it allows people from different countries and cultures to enjoy a common thing.
